CPD and events

Incoming schools will join a strong and growing family with the relevant support structures designed to meet their initial and ongoing needs.  We run a range of shared CPD, training and networking events for school leaders, teachers, business managers and governors.

Regular CPD opportunities are outlined below.
Further events and details can be found on the Events calendar.

ODBST schools also benefit from being able to attend many of the courses and events run by our sister trust within the Diocese, Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST). These events can be found on the ODST Eventbrite page.

Events for Headteachers and Leadership Teams

Leadership conferences
Termly conferences for Headteachers, often with external speakers. The conferences are run jointly with ODST, creating a valuable group of school leaders to meet, gain updates, and discuss key issues.

PSHE association training
Training for PSHE leads or teachers.

Early Years Network meetings
Termly meetings for Early Years leaders to share best practice and gain the latest updates.  Book now via Eventbrite

Target Tracker Champions Network meetings
Target Tracker is the progress tracking software used by ODBST and ODST schools. We offer termly opportunities for Target Tracker Champions to gain the latest updates from a Target Tracker trainer, gain support and ask questions.

Events for Teachers

Subject Learning Communities: English and Mathematics
Local twilight CPD sessions designed to support teachers’ knowledge and skills. Hosted by ODBST schools but led by an external trainer, each session usually focuses on specific aspects of teaching English or Mathematics. All KS2 teachers and teaching assistants are welcome.

Events for School Business Managers

Business Managers network meeting
Termly meeting for ODBST business managers, to meet with and get updates from the central team, network and share information with peers across the trust.

Events for Governors

Termly governance briefings

Monitoring a school through visits

Further events and training

We also run additional training on a wide range of topics when the need arises. For example, in 2017/18 the programme featured SEND reviews training, a course on managing early years inspections, GDPR briefings and Exclusions and IRP training.
