Leadership Conference – Autumn Term 2019

Tuesday 13th November 2019, Bicester Hotel and Spa

Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants

While the number of teachers in mainstream schools in England has remained relatively steady over the last decade or so, the number of full-time equivalent TAs has more than trebled since 2000; from 79,000 to 243,700. Teaching assistants comprise over a quarter of the workforce in mainstream schools in England. On the basis of headcount there are currently more TAs in English nursery and primary schools than teachers.

It is therefore more vital than ever that this resource is well managed, effectively deployed and sufficiently skilled in their roles. This conference is designed to focus school leaders on ensuring the effective use of resource and the best outcomes for children and young people as a result.

Who should attend: Headteachers and/or other SLT members from ODST and ODBST schools
