Effectiveness of Governance: self evaluation review familiarisation

Full CalendarGeneral Trust Meetings

This event will take place on 14/03/2019

ODST and ODBST have planned to offer local governing bodies a review of their work as visit 5 of the annual cycle of visits. Governors involved in this are invited to a familiarisation session on the self-evaluation framework which has been written to match the new 2019 Inspection handbook.

Self evaluation reviews are due to take place in the early summer term for all ODST and ODBST schools. To increase the impact of these, School Improvement Advisers (SIAs) will invite a peer Chair of Governors (or rep) from another Trust school to take part in the visit. This will help them to see how the new criteria impact on those responsible for governance and see how the new criteria and key focus for leadership and governance in the new (2019) Ofsted inspection handbook look like when used to review another local governing body.

This training will allow governors to look in advance at the review documents and consider how their school will meet the graded criteria, consider the evidence and questions which may be asked and to plan their part in a review.
